Based in Los Angeles, photographer Nevyn Lyn Matthews creates imagery rooted in
intimacy, movement, and a quiet humanness that lingers beyond the frame.

Raised in Reseda, with formative years spent in Mexico, Nevyn was a natural athlete before turning to art as a deeper form of expression. Summers in Northern California, away from home, became early chapters of visual storytelling—photography was how he made sense of distance, memory, and self.

He went on to study graphic design in college, interning with streetwear brands where his visual voice sharpened and his eye for subculture, texture, and tone deepened.

Nevyn’s earliest subjects were his surroundings, friends, skateboarding, city streets, capturing the in-between moments. His work still carries that instinctual honesty.

Driven by a sensitivity to light, color, and emotional detail, his photography is less about performance and more about presence.
What he captures isn’t just what’s seen, it’s what’s felt.
